Case Study for higher education course for the creative exploration of cities / STROLL Walking the City-Streets Online
In relation to our project STROLL Walking the City-Streets Online, we made an experimental higher education course possible, for university students from 3 different countries, as well as 3 different disciplines. The program was planned as a one-semester-long special course, with frontal lectures, seminar-type discussions, and plenty of time for independent, collective fieldwork-based research conducted in small groups. The program offered the possibility for students to discover a foreign city by exploring virtual spaces created for that purpose.
The object of this report is the documentation of the case study of the virtual student exchange course STROLL as it was carried out in each country. It offers the synthesis of the experiences, objectively describing the challenges and the success factors. It searchers answers to the questions of how the challenges should be answered in the most effective way and how the success factors can be best harnessed.
