We want people living in our country to become interculturally sensitive citizens, active participants in society, able to assert their interests and open to geographical and social mobility. To achieve this, we engage our participants in activities where they have the opportunity to express their creativity and talents, while experiencing active citizenship, reflecting together on their own issues, developing common solutions and engaging in social dialogue at local level.

Current Projects

CRIS – Cooperate, Reach out, Integrate Services

The “Cooperate, reach out, integrate services (CRIS)” project develops tools and practices to strengthen integrated service delivery for vulnerable groups in order to support their inclusion in the labour market and in society, taking inspiration, especially from good practices developed in Germany and Slovenia.

In all three pilot countries - Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia - the target groups are long-term unemployed or working-age inactive people who face multiple problems (poor skills, health problems, poor housing conditions) and are likely to face labour market discrimination due to ethnic origin. Target groups include recent immigrants from Bulgaria and Romania in Germany, recipients of municipal housing support in Hungary (Budapest’s 7th District), and marginalized Roma communities in Slovakia. At least 450 people will be involved in the project.

Due to their multiple problems, these target groups often need several services, which, to be effective, need to be coordinated. However, in the current institutional setup, these target groups have limited access to the services. This is due to insufficient outreach efforts on the part of public authorities and services, weaknesses in existing referral mechanisms, and limited cooperation between benefit administration and service providers. CRIS will address the aforementioned issues by (1) strengthening referral mechanisms and introducing new outreach activities; (2) strengthening or developing the capacities of a public agency to enable them to act as case managers; and (3) filling service gaps through public agency capacity building and/or the development of an effective model of subcontracting non-governmental agencies.

The project partners include municipalities, public employment services, municipal social service providers, NGOs, and a research institute. The project will run for 30 months, from January 2022 to June 2024.

During the project we intend to organize:

– 3 multiplier events will disseminate the intellectual outputs and materials developed during the project

– 5 online webinars with media and education experts/ youth workers expert on inclusion

– 25 follow-up activities implemented by the trained youth workers

– 3 videos with graphic facilitation on relevant topics of media literacy

– over 200 people – teachers, media and education experts, people from the youth sector informed about the resources developed in the project

For the partners involved in the project will be a good opportunity to exchange know-how and to develop tools on media literacy with an inclusive approach for vulnerable groups that are transferable and easy to implement taking into consideration the online and offline learning environments.

InMedia is a project co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme KA2- Strategic Partnerships in the Youth Sector.

CONTINUE

For young people in marginalized social groups, the consequences of the COVID epidemic include an increase in financial, material, and health vulnerabilities; the loss of links with institutions, the social welfare system, job opportunities, and the reduction of opportunities for social integration; with decline and dropout in education.

FOR TACKLING THESE CHALLENGES, CONTINUE INTENDS TO:

  • Understand the main difficulties of marginalized youth during COVID-19 and their vision about the main challenges of post-COVID times;
  • Create a digital framework for supporting a smooth transfer from offline to online exchanges between young people, youth organizations, and governance structures;
  • Organise capacity building activities for young people to deliver local social actions;
  • enhance dialogue between stakeholders, policy makers, and youth, and improve relevant policy.

NŐ AZ ERŐNK!

The situation of women with disabilities has very limited visibility in our society. The ‘Nő az Erőnk’ (in English: Our women power grows) group teamed up in 2021 to change this. Our goal is to assess the needs of women with disabilities and to create discourse about their situation with the involvement of experts (special education teachers, advocacy specialists, legal advisors, etc.) and women themselves. In addition, we also organise events with which we want to strengthen the sense of female identity among women with disabilities, and to make them visible to other members of society in everyday situations, improving their underrepresentation in Hungary.

In 2022, we are organising a 1-year project in collaboration between ‘Nő az Erőnk’ group and Artemisszió Foundation, with the support of Erasmus+ program. In March 2022, we organised for the second time the Day of Women with Disabilities. For the rest of the year, we are using photography and photovoice method to strengthen women's sense of identity and increase the visibility of women with disabilities.

Stroll - Walking the city

On the 30th of March Artemisszió launched an extraordinary experiment, together with the University of Thessaly, the Complutense University of Madrid and Interkulturális Pszichológiai és Pedagógiai Intézet

Inspired by the recent migration of higher education to the online space, we are searching for ways to integrate online learning into the curriculum not as a necessary evil but as an exciting opportunity to learn differently.

Our new project will create the possibility for students of the 3 partner universities to participate in a rich virtual student exchange program in order to study spatial justice in 3 different cities: Budapest, Madrid, and Thessaly.

The course we are building will include theoretical and methodological classes, where we intend to combine ethnographic tools with artistic approaches. Students will have the opportunity to test the learned methods both in real-life and in virtual fieldwork, which they will carry out in thematic research groups. In this way, they will not only travel in the virtual space but will experience real collaborative research.

The project that will last 2 years is financed by the Erasmus+ program.
